Gel polish is applied like nail polish, but then light cured under either a UV or LED light. The gel polish acts as an overlay on the nail which can last anywhere from 2-4 weeks. The result is high shine nails with no chipping, peeling, or cracking. Recommended for busy clients who are on-the-go and don’t have time for regular nail polish touch-ups. Gel polish is also great for vacations, parties, weddings, etc. because of it’s long-lasting and worry-free color.
Gel polish can last anywhere from 2-4 weeks, but that can vary from client to client depending on how often they work with their hands. Water dehydrates the nail which will can affect the Gel Polish results. Cuticle oils can be applied regularly on and around the nails to avoid dehydration and to maintain their overall health.
With proper application and removal, Gel Polish should not harm your natural nails. White patches on the nails can be common; but this is due to dryness, and can be avoided with daily application of cuticle oil.
Professional removal is the best to ensure no damage is done to the nail.

Hard Gel Hard gel is often considered to be a healthier and more eco-friendly alternative to acrylics. Gel is only hardened/cured when exposed to LED or UV light. Gel nails look and feel more natural because they’re slightly more flexible than acrylics. They’re generally recommended for clients who often have their hands submerged in water, work with chemicals (such as acetone), or who enjoy changing their nail polish colour frequently. Acrylic Acrylic consists of a powder and liquid which are combined to create the added nail length. Acrylic nails are known for their strength and durability, but tend to feel less natural since they’re more rigid compared to hard gels. Acrylics are not recommended for clients who are frequently submerging their hands in water or chemicals. Doing so frequently could cause the acrylic to break down and lift which could lead to trapped bacteria between the nail and the acrylic.
